    Hiking

Prayer flags are ubiquitous in Bhutan. The people of Bhutan are deeply religious and believe that the wind carries the prayer printed on them to heaven. Prayer flags are placed on windy mountain slopes, among other places. The colors of the prayer flags represent the five elements of nature: red for fire, blue for water, yellow for earth, white for sky and green for vegetation. Buddhists believe that the harmony of these five elements is good for the mind and body.
