    The monument, commonly called "Monumento a Ciano", was precisely named after Edda Mussolini, daughter of the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini and daughter-in-law of Costanzo Ciano, a bigshot of Fascism whose son Galeazzo she had married. But the imposing work that was to be a mausoleum intended to house the remains of Costanzo Ciano and his family, as well as a museum with his trophies, was not completed due to the fall of Fascism.
