In spring, in this gentle valley sloping down to the Elbe, there are a lot of old beech leaves, so it's easy to slip. But the slide is worth it, because it takes you to the narrow path lined with mountaineering huts directly below the steep yellow sandstone walls.

After the initial climb from the B 172, there's a short, level section before the trail continues gently uphill past the sandstone cliffs through the beech forest to the Elbleitenweg trail.
