On April 19, 2008, the time had come, the Liebenburgers stormed into the forest with spades and planted 1000 Norway maples with the then Federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel. The school forest of the Oberschule am Schloss is still an integral part of the educational concept today. The one-week youth forest assignment means getting up early, looking for special workplaces with supervision and guidance from forest managers.
