He is the founder and the first president of the Au Consortium for the preservation of the peninsula as a publicly accessible destination.
I first noticed him when I was at the Grandhotel Giessbach, and this beautiful place is also thanks to him that it still exists.
He actually learned how to brew beer at the Weihenstephan Brewery School in Germany and took over a brewery with his brother Frandie in 1889.
