The Harscheider Bach is the largest tributary of the Waldbrölbach. It is a complex of wet meadows and pastures as well as a small alluvial forest with temporary small bodies of water. The alluvial forest with willow and alder as the main tree species is located in the west of the area. Some areas are dominated by bitter foam herb and other typical riparian forest vegetation, others by small-flowered balsam and nettle. In the south, a moist oat meadow borders the forest, which is bordered by a hedge towards the road. The grassland on the northern side of the stream is made up of an intensively used and a fallow pasture as well as wet grassland. The Geringhauser Bach, which has been partially straightened, is accompanied by individual alders and willows, followed by a hedge made of oak, hornbeam and hazel. The value of the area lies in the close interlinking of different wetlands and is therefore important as a habitat for amphibians. The NSG wetland Harscheider Bachtal near Geringhauser Mühle is of regional importance for the biotope network.
