The Michelsberg with the church that can be seen from afar is embedded in a loop of the basin. The cave "Hanseles Hohl" is located on the steep rocky slopes in the north. There are several section protection on the southern slope of the mountain. To the west of the church was a medieval castle, of which the tower mound and neck moat are still preserved. In the High Middle Ages, the mountain was probably the residence of the noble freemen of Fronhofen, recorded around 1140. A castle was abandoned in the 12th century.
