The discovery of a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary in 1471 led to the construction of the pilgrimage church in the same year. The rather plain external appearance of the church stands in stark contrast to the magnificent interior in the Baroque and Rococo style.

The "Maikäfer" restaurant in Buggenhofen, with its magnificent view from the terrace, is ideal for a stopover. Unfortunately, it currently opens at 5 p.m. on weekdays. The "Zigeunereiche" (Gypsy Oak), a natural monument approximately 600 years old, is also not to be missed.

The discovery of a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary in 1471 led to the construction of the pilgrimage church in the same year. It was rebuilt in 1678/80 and the interior was completely redesigned in 1768 - 1770. Since then, the rather plain external appearance of the church has contrasted with the magnificent interior in the Baroque and Rococo style. Particularly impressive are the delicately colored frescoes by Johann Baptist Enderle (1769) as well as numerous figures and sculptural furnishings by Johann Georg Bschorer.
