    More than 100 years ago, the people of Frankfurt made their way to Steinbach to socialize at the Äppler. How it came to the connection? Well, that might have something to do with the slightly curious territorial conditions of that epoch. Frankfurt, like many villages in its vicinity, was annexed by the Prussians in 1866. The belonging to the Grand Duchy of Hesse Steinbach but remained Hessian exclave.
    The Äppelwoibrückchen over the Steinbach reminds of this old bond.
