The Grundelteich forms the center of the complex. A small wooden bridge leads to the island in the middle of the pond. In 1884, the owner of the castle mill, Carl Hedrich, erected a memorial column with a water cascade in honor of Count Richard Clemens von Schönburg-Glauchau. It was also intended as a memorial to the Counts of Schönburg, which was expressed by the plaque on the base.
