The Maillard oak is a tree with a circumference of 5.50 m measured, according to forestry tradition, at 1.50 m from the ground. It would be 350 to 400 years old and was therefore planted around 1600. It was saved from being cut down
by the last receiver of the Magistrate of the Ancien Régime, Antoine-Léonard Mailliar, when he was already nearly 2 centuries old. Today, he is still in good health.
