Tips
This route is very well developed and mostly leads along the Elbe dike with little traffic. The last kilometer offers an interesting view of the Aurubis plant and the peutebahn, where railway fans can watch long ore trains. Aurubis, the former Norddeutsche Affinerie, is one of the world's largest copper producers and recyclers.In order to drive directly to the city of Hamburg, one could take the shortcut via Peutestrasse, which, however, is not recommended (at least on weekdays) as there are largely no bike paths here and there is very heavy truck traffic.
