Among the younger dumps of the Ruhr district is the Pattberghalde. After the adjoining mine of the same name had been approved in the early 1960s, from 1964 to 1985, some 35 hectares were used to pile up tailings. The highest point rises 64 meters above the ground.

A fantastic all-round view of nature, industry and traffic arteries

Who is traveling in this region, should definitely take the manageable altitude on the summit of the Pattberg. There are quite a few nice trails to explore here when walking around the dump.

Once the Pattberg heap was the "event hill" for summer festivals and other events. Unfortunately, the hill between Moers and Kamp-Lintfort is a bit neglected and only moderately managed. To take a few meters under the wheels but still good.

Ruckzuck to reach from the heap Northern Germany. Somewhat easier to drive and significantly less hustle and bustle.

Good and not steep way up, no special skills necessary.
