Best Hiking Routes to Seekofel Summit and View of Lake Braies

Tips

  • The ascent from the Seekofelhütte is short and crisp. And incredibly worth it! You will hardly find a more impressive view of the Pragser Wildsee.

You should plan about one to one and a half hours for the ascent. The path is well marked. Nevertheless, you should keep a close eye on the markings, as there are numerous possibilities where you intuitively deviate from the intended path. You can't get lost. You always have the summit cross in view. A few demanding steep sections are secured with ropes.

  • After a long climb you will be rewarded with a great view down to the Braies Lake.

  • Once at the Biella Refuge, the ascent of the south-eastern ridge of the Croda del Becco begins, on a clearly visible zigzag track. This part of the itinerary, in which the slope increases considerably, is partially facilitated by a handrail, simply to delimit the possibility of exposure. The view that opens on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo is splendid. The next part leaves the possibility of interpretation with numerous tracks that converge on the final slope, where the summit cross is already visible (1 hour from the Biella refuge, just as for the descent). From the top, a remarkable 360 ° panorama that ranges from the Marmolada, to the Tofane, to the Pelmo, to the Croda Rossa, but above all to the underlying Braies Lake.
