The house de Wientjesvoort was only built around 1850. It is therefore not old and cannot boast of an older predecessor. The house takes its name from an inn that once stood nearby. Wientjesvoort, like many of these names, points to a passable place in a stream or river, but a water with that name does not occur (anymore). Incidentally, the inn was called the Wennekinckvoort in the seventeenth century.
