Blackchurch rock is a large arch stack found at Mouthmill. The magnificent arches are made from Hartland Quay Shale and contain goniatite fossils. The isolated cove has long been associated with smuggling activities. You can still see the remains of an old limekiln nearby whose limestone and coal would have been brought in via boat.

I parked in the national Trust car Park (honesty box) them followed the footpath through beckland wood, along the cliff and down onto mouthmill beach then returned via the footpath through snaxland and Brownsham Wood
