The villa was built in 1907 by Hart & Lesser for the banker Julius Erxleben. It is an extraordinarily monumental and playful-looking plastered building with a roof landscape that is typically diverse for these architects. The underway is built over with a sturdy corner tower. The numerous small windows with different shapes and proportions are striking.

In the 1950s, the house served as a film set for Edgar Wallace films, among others.

Renate Holm lived here for a time. She was born in 1931 as Renate Franke in Berlin. In 1961 she made her big breakthrough as an opera singer at the Vienna State Opera. Mostly under the musical direction of Herbert von Karajan, she sang on all major opera stages, often with Rudolf Schock or Fritz Wunderlich. She also appeared in around thirty music and homeland films. She lives in Vienna, still gives concerts and appears at festivals.
Ursula Meissner, born in 1923, also lived here.

As a 20 year old actress at the Prussian State Theater, she hid Konrad Latte and his parents in 1943. At that time Konrad Latte was organist at the St. Annen Church in Dahlem. Because of his Jewish origins, he got more and more distressed, but survived the Nazi era thanks to the help of Ursula Meissner and others. He later became known as the director of the Berlin Baroque Orchestra.
