The Plym Valley Trail is a cycle route that runs from Dartmoor to Plymouth along the River Plym. It is part of the National Cycle Network Route 27 and the Devon Coast to Coast ride. It is also part of the Drake’s Trail, which follows the old South Devon & Tavistock Railway line. The trail is mostly traffic-free and runs through National Trust-owned woodland. It offers scenic views of the river, the moorland and the industrial heritage of the area. The trail leads past dramatic ruins, towering cliffs and impressive viaducts.

Cycling

A number of cycle routes lead to Plymbridge, but there is only one real rout for bikes up through the valley, although there is access to Cann Woods downhill tracks and also there are the Plymbridge mountain bike trails a short way up the track. Good place for all abilities.

Cycling

This is a great gentle trail that takes you from Plympton all the way to Tavistock. The northward trail is on a slight incline, but is only really felt on the way back down towards Plymouth. In Clearbrook, about 6 miles up the trail there is a nice pub and village green.
