Was actually not on our route and was a detour of about 20km and at the end also up the hill (after 90km and over 1000hm), but not only was there no alternative, it was worth every single drop of sweat! Must see! Insider tip: Prosecco and San Daniele ham (not that secret at all);)

Beautiful village and very famous for its wonderful hams. The extreme climb at the entrance to the town is rewarded by the beauty of the Cathedral and the goodness of the food!

Not only the church of San Daniele, the whole place is worth visiting. The somewhat steep climb is definitely worth it.
