Approximately 16 hectares of the Bruderlöcher nature reserve. At this point you can see two of the scours which, according to the informative sign, were probably formed as early as the 15th century.

This is the 16 hectare nature reserve "Brüderlöcher". The so-called swirl holes (ponds) were all created by breaching dikes. If you walk along the Rhine dykes, you will come across these whirlpool holes again and again. Many of these types arose in particular during one of the strongest floods at the end of the 19th century.
