Unfortunately, there is not much left of the "fix idea", the inn above Burgtonna, except for its history.
A war returnees from the First World War and his girlfriend from England had the indomitable desire to build a restaurant on the Fahner Höhe. They were laughed at in Burgtonna: in a place without water and electricity? What an obsession!
The venture was of a limited duration.
In summer, however, it is still miraculously mild with the many fruit trees in the garden (cherries, apples, pears, but also nuts) and the orchards around them, like with a landlord.
Always a good place to think about big plans and the transience of everything earthly.

Lost Place: The "Fixe Idea" is the now almost overgrown ruin of a former forestry from the 1960s on the western edge of the Fahnerhöhe. "Fixed idea" because a long-dead LPG chairman once had the (fixed) idea of building a hotel in the middle of the countryside.
