The protective cloak chapel "Maria auf dem Buchholz" was built out of gratitude of the golden wedding couple Christel and Wilhelm Ferdinant Schüßler for a fulfilled and happy life. The grateful couple set up a foundation with the purpose of building a chapel in Winkels. On September 7th, 2009, the cloak protection chapel was erected in a four-month construction period.

A unique structure was created under the guiding principle of the unity of form and function:

Seven vaulted concrete shells arranged in a spiral around the floor plan form the cone-shaped shell of the outer shell of the chapel. This coat is held by a golden crown. A white cross shines on top of it as a sign of faith that can be seen from afar.

In the overlapping area of the concrete shells, there are room-high openings due to the geometry. As so-called pleated windows, they close the mantle with artistically designed glasses. The primary color of the glass is blue, the color of the Virgin Mary. Incidentally, the number seven is a mystical number that is encountered both in ancient myths and in the Bible.
