From the fire tower you can see almost the entire Haard. In good weather you have a very good view.

A wooden fire watchtower and observation tower stood on the summit region of the Rennberg. The dilapidated building, which was 35 m high, was demolished in 2009 and replaced by the 35 m high fire watchtower Rennberg made of hot-dip galvanized steel construction. It was inaugurated on March 31, 2010. From its viewing platform, which can be reached via 143 steps and is located at 32 m tower height, at about 168 m above sea level. NHN looks across the Haard to Flaesheim, the Flaesheim lock on the Wesel-Datteln Canal, and with good visibility to the Ruhr area and the Münsterland. The network operator Telefonica distributes the radio standards GSM, UMTS and LTE from the fire watch tower.

Fantastic view. Watch the sunrise from up here.
The steps are without a grid and therefore suitable for dog paws.
