Westwall in Birgelen

Erected in the III. The Siegfried Line served as a military fortification and stretched from Kleve to Basel! 😮

A great trail winds along and along the wall.

It's great how nature has now taken the Siegfried Line

You can see an information board and walk up the wall. There is a bench upstairs - walls and caves can no longer be found.

From the road you come to a hill that is about 5 - 7 m high. It was built in World War II to repel enemy tanks.

From the old Siegfried Line you have a nice overview of the area.

A narrow path with a short steep climb and descent, which then meanders along a fairly steep embankment. Some surefootedness is required here.

Birgelen was taken by American troops in 1945. Old relics can still be found here today
