200 years ago, a then-modern hammer mill was built in the then Prechtäler district Oberprechtal. After extensive renovation, it can now be visited again.
In 1828, as documented, the Catholic Board of Trustees and the owner of the smithy, Valentin Winterer, agree on the construction of a weir to build a hammer mill. Forge master Valentin Winterer built this weir into the Elz in 1829. Three water wheels drove in addition to the grinding shop and the bellows, many machines and a large hammer mill.
