You should be on the Brocken on a sunny day around 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., when there aren't many hikers around yet.
It's a great route even with lots of hikers; most hikers only join in the upper third, which makes you feel like the pros in the Tour de France at the summit.
On the descent, most hikers are only found in the upper third.
On a considerate descent, this route is a highlight for everyone, hikers and cyclists alike!
