The lower Gaisalpsee is a high mountain lake at 1508 meters altitude in the Allgäu Alps, northeast below the Rubihorns (1957 m). About the Gaisalpbach drains the 3.5-acre lake to Iller.
The lake is located on the trail from Reichenbach to Nebelhorn on the Gaisalpe, Lower and Upper Gaisalpsee, Gaisfußsattel, Gund and Gmund Edmund Probst House.

A great place and wonderful to cool off on the descent. It's best to start very early in the morning, then it's much quieter on the mountain. For current reasons: if you go to the mountains, please also bring suitable shoes and drinking water. What happened to me again .....

    Do not forget swimwear.
The lake invites you to swim. But this idea has many. :)

After a strenuous mountain tour, the Gaisalpsee is a welcome reward for taking a break. Fantastically beautiful, how the mountains are reflected in the lake.

Great lake. Very good condition is required for the ascent to the Rubihorn, but the lake is easily accessible from the Gaisalpe. In summer the lake is also suitable for swimming. For the strenuous and rocky ascent to the Rubihorn, you will be rewarded with a great view of the lake, the Nebelhorn and over Oberstdorf.

Beautiful lake! We were there on a Saturday in July. The route up was unfortunately very crowded. Otherwise really recommended :-)

Very nice lake in the mountains. The steep hike was worth it. If you go up the path in the direction of the upper Gaisalpsee, you have a wonderful view of the valley and the lower Gaisalpsee. Worth it!

One of the most beautiful places below the Rubi Horn - which you can also reach with children is the great lake with its turquoise waters!

What can one write here already - it is simply a "cool location" in new German .... Who walks in Oberstdorf should not miss this lake ...

Especially for families with small children, the Lower Gaisalpsee is already a nice end goal. Of course, for hikers who are not quite as conditionally strong.
