The special feature of the schools is the design and furnishings in various art historical styles. They were opened after two years of construction in 1909. The financing was provided by Arthur Krupp. Architectural advice for the overall project was provided by the architect Ludwig Baumann.
At the same time, the Neo-Baroque Margaret Church was built next to it.

Mountain biking

The couple Arthur and Margret Krupp dedicated the church to the town's residents. The ensemble with the neo-baroque Margaretenkirche and the two schools is a Berndorf landmark that can be seen from afar. The interior is dominated by the high altar cast in bronze and weighing twenty tons. In the right tower of the church there is a carillon that sounds three times a day
