The Peilsteinhaus is located in the middle of a climbing area with over 800 routes, the Peilstein Walls. But there is also hiking around the house. The E4 long-distance hiking trail, the Mariazeller Weg (a pilgrimage route), the Pre-Alpine, the Northern Alpine, the Vienna Woods long-distance hiking and the Lower Austrian state hiking trail pass by.

The Peilsteinhaus is always worth a visit. Nice service and great food!

The Peilsteinhaus is a training base of the Peilstein Alpine School.

Very nice all-round view, weather conditions required.

Child-friendly access from Schwarzensee, hut OK, access from Nöstach a bit more exhausting but with motivated children also feasible

The children's playground and the observation tower (11 meters) are a nice destination for a break on this hike.

A culinary rewarding and easy to reach destination is the Peilsteinhaus. New (2018): a large playground for the little ones.

If there is enough snow, you can go down with the sled in winter. By the way, the food and drink are very good.

Great vantage point, large playground for children and cozy hut with very quick staff!

Apparently the shrimp dumplings are so good here. Unfortunately, I couldn't try it myself.
