Tips

  • The Alpine Refuge "I Diacci" (941 m asl), immersed in the green beech forests of the upper Mugello on the crest of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, not far from the Sambuca Pass, is a perfect stop for trekking, Nordic walking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The Rovigo river, which flows not far from the refuge, with its ancient mill and its waterfalls remains an enchanting destination in both summer and winter. The Refuge offers rooms with private bathroom, a large dining room and a simple but appetizing cuisine. DOG FRIENDLY.

Rifugio I Diacci is part of a circuit called Rifugi del Mugello and is a large and ancient farmhouse completely restored respecting its nature. The managers are passionate people who have spent a lot of time and work there and now the refuge can boast a good level of hospitality.
... in addition to the main house, I Diacci consists of the barn, a large room with two dormitories with bunk beds for groups, the bivouac available when the refuge is closed (the managers are there only on weekends) and the lawn below the home, suitable for curtains and very busy eg. by scout groups.

  • Nice, well-kept, welcoming refuge. I took the family there to eat and sleep and we enjoyed it very much.
