The sculptor Dana Meyer has given her group of figures of five antelopes the title “The Gorge”.

In a joint forward movement, the animals are disturbed by an obstacle and the danger it poses. Suddenly stopped in its course, the antelope leading the pack freezes with its head stretched forward and bowed. The following four animals, also prevented from continuing on their way, react differently in their individual postures. Viewed from the side, the animals follow one another in a long line. They form a dynamic and at the same time harmonious group that describes an ascending line through the position of their heads. From a different perspective, the antelopes gather to form a group of densely packed bodies and intersecting lines, while as escape animals they turn their heads restlessly, peering and searching outwards at the moment of danger.
