The Velperweg, as this forest path is officially called, is one of the few unpaved connecting roads between Veluwezoom and the Loenermark where Natuurmonumenten can actually cycle. All the perfect side roads in the region are unfortunately (and incomprehensibly) prohibited for cycling.
The fact that it is the only unpaved path where you are allowed to cycle, is noticeable by the busy cycle that you sometimes have here. Both the MTB route Veluwezoom and a junction route run over this segment, although I would advise city cyclists against cycling here because of the sometimes loose sand.
Despite the sometimes somewhat busy connection, this road is definitely worth it. The road is beautiful, as is the forest around it and the reward of the Loenermark in the north is maximum.
Hopefully Natuurmonumenten will open some more roads like this for cyclists.

Nice path, part of the mountain bike route on the Veluwezoom (Rheden). This mountain bike route is a very beautiful route across the beautiful Veluwe. The route can get a bit swampy on wet ground, making it a lot harder. Also have a look at the red parts of the route for extra technical parts, great fun!
