The babbling brook is also completely absent! How can that be?The fulling mill was a mill powered by a large water reservoir. The water collects here in a natural depression and is fed from the rain and from small rivulets in the area.To the east of the fulling mill, the creek bed can still be seen very well, into which the water was led past the mill when required and which drove the mill wheel. In this way the water was not wasted and formed a natural biotope: the fulling mill pond!

The Walkmühlen Pond is a body of water connected to the Obermühle (mill) in Bad Düben. It is also known as the Obermühlenteich (upper mill pond) and is a fishing lake fed by a branch of the Schleifbach stream. The Obermühle (mill), located on this pond, has a long history and was formerly used as a fulling mill.
