The oldest surviving building in Hobro is the church staircase, dating from around 1100 AD.
The nobles were led to the church on these stairs. The town must have been big enough at that time to build a church.
The current church was built in 1852 based on a drawing by the architect "Bindesbøll", who also designed the Thorwald Museum. A cannonball was "stored" in the base of the museum. This is said to have hit the old church in the Swedish War of 1657-1660 AD.visitdenmark.de/daenemark/explore/hobro-kirche-gdk601013
