There are some places steeped in history here. Very interesting and sometimes scary.
But in summer I can easily imagine the Galgenberg as an amphitheater or resting place.

On the Galgenberg, after the verdict of the local jury or the intermediate court on the "Geer", the sentence was carried out. In the case of simple offenses, the accused was accepted back into the community after an agreed penance. In the case of crimes connected with danger to the community, he was banished, cast out on the way north, abroad. The most serious crimes were executed on the gallows.
On a knoll on the edge of the slope above the Nettedurchbruch valley, the gallows used to be clearly visible in the heathland.
