With an area of 14.5 hectares, the north cemetery is the second largest cemetery in the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden. The numerous prominent graves are remarkable, of which I was particularly touched by Volker Kriegel (jazz musician).

The second largest cemetery in Wiesbaden was inaugurated in 1877. The current forest character of the North Cemetery stems from the targeted planting when the cemetery was founded. In between there are still some old and tall oaks and beeches from the time before the cemetery was built.
Likewise, the architectural and landscape planning design, which with its many tombs of high art-historical rank, led to the fact that this cemetery is now completely under monument protection.

Next to the Russian cemetery, the most beautiful in the city, the adjacent Jewish cemetery is also worth seeing.
