Please note that the Oppig-Grät-Gorge is not accessible from November to March. Sturdy shoes and surefootedness are also required. The gorge should also be avoided in heavy rainfall. Diversions are available.

Hiking
As a geological feature, soft red sandstone is stored here under hard shell limestone. Over the millennia, the running water of the plateau has caused deep cuts in the terrain. These are called fish bones here on site. The bones are home to rare mosses and ferns. The winter horsetail can also be found here in the designated nature reserve.
