Between 1914 and 1916, the Old Urn Cemetery was initially set up as a small urn grove during the construction of the crematorium. The entrance area was completed in the 1920s with the addition of the two administrator's houses. Behind it is one of the most beautiful public green spaces in the Kiel city area.
