This farm was built around 1600, originally raised sheep and exported large flocks of sheep as far as Paris. On the recommendation of Pastor Johann Friedrich Mayer and usage calculations, it was “privatized” in 1772, i.e. sold and used intensively for agricultural purposes, e.g. for growing the newly introduced potatoes. In a "machine house" there, the owner operated a "earth pear grinder" designed by Mayer, a "earth pear printer" and a "earth pear mill", a "chopper or straw bench", all powered by a Göpel or a cow or horse on a treadmill. The Schafhof is currently in a renovation phase.
Entering the facility is not permitted.
