Monte Palanzone (1,436m asl) is one of the main peaks of the Lariano Triangle, second in height only to Monte San Primo.
The peak looks like a grassy pyramid that rises along the Como ridge. From afar it can be recognized by the presence of a pyramidal chapel.
It can be reached easily from the peak of Sormano or from Alpe del Vicerè. In this case you have to take into account a minimum of effort to overcome the steep final slope.
The itineraries that start from Caslino d'Erba or from Asso on the east side or from the hamlets of Faggeto Lario on the west side are longer and more demanding.
