The Humboldt Castle is hidden in Auleben. The two-storey building with a half-timbered tower and stair tower was built by the Schwarzburg-Sondershausen Princely House in the early 16th century. From 1950 the house housed a school for almost 40 years. The historic building is currently being renovated.
