Although the Aggenstein at 1,985 meters is not one of the highest mountains in the Tannheim Valley, it captivates with its magnificent all-round view and can easily compete with its higher neighboring peaks.

However, entire caravans often pull hikers up to the summit in summer, and it is not uncommon to have to queue to secure a place on the summit. It is better to plan an ascent out of season, i.e. in spring or late in autumn, when the Bad Kissinger Hütte is closed and it is not possible to get from the mountain station of the Breitenbergbahn due to the snow on the northern flank of the Aggenstein.

From Breitenberg to Aggenstein there are about 2 hours. An absolute highlight.

Beautiful climb over the Bad Kissinger hut with small climbing passages below the summit. Lyre very crowded on nice days. The view, however, compensates for everything ....

Those who still have the strength and sure-footed, as free from giddiness, should climb the summit. There are some climbing passages secured with steel cable. Unfortunately, this is loose in two places. Who has made it, will be rewarded with a spectacular view.

Here there is even the protected Edelweiss on the wayside. Who picks it risks a penalty of up to 15000 €

... there is a summit book ... unfortunately, it is already fully written ... but in between there are still a few empty spaces, so you can immortalize ...

Beautiful summit which can be reached via a short Kraxelpassage with rope fences. On sunny days and especially on the weekends, there was a lot of overcrowding.

In good weather, the ascent and descent is very crowded, but the 360 ° view compensates for a lot.

If you know it, you can make out the Zugspitze in good weather.

A fairly easy via ferrata you can commit even without security. When the weather is nice it is quite crowded but above you will be rewarded with great views.

Sturdy shoes ok ... But you do not need climbing equipment or fuses to climb the summit. Have lots of fun with it

Very nice view and the local mountain of Bad Kissinger hut. In the last part a few rope insurances are appropriate. You should be sure-footed and free of vertigo. Can be approached by both Bad Kissinger Hütte and Pfronten.

The ascent over the "Langen Strich" is currently blocked due to the risk of falling rocks:

    As of 07/28 2020
The summit with the great view can still be reached via the “Böse Tritt” 😤 🦵 and the “Bad Kissinger Hütte”!The long line is open again!
