The bike path is flat and asphalted through the vines. The view of the former monastery is really very nice.

The Calvarienberg Monastery is absolutely impressive. The magnificent building is located on a hill surrounded by grapevines and can be clearly seen from the bike path. The surrounding landscape with the picturesque vineyards is unique and beautiful.
The monastery was built by the Franciscans in 1630. In 1838 it was taken over by the Ursulines, who founded a school for girls there. Today the monastery is changing. The Ursulines have to give it up as there are no young sisters who can take it over. However, further use of the monastery can only be planned once an investor has been found.
