The monastery Calvary is absolutely impressive. The magnificent building is located on a hill surrounded by vineyards and is clearly visible from the bike path. The surrounding countryside with the picturesque vineyards is unique and beautiful.

The monastery was built in 1630 by the Franciscans. In 1838 it was taken over by the Ursulines, who founded a school for girls there. Today the monastery is changing. The Ursulines have to give it up, as there are no young sisters who can take over. However, further use of the monastery can not be planned until an investor has been found.

If you make your way from Bad Neuenahr to Dernau, you should not miss the monastery. It is not only a monastery, but also an educational institution.
