Opened in 1938, the Guriner Walserhaus is the first folk history museum founded in Ticino. It is located in the lower part of the village in the "ufum Hengart" corridor, where in the past the meetings of the small Walser community were held. The seat of the museum is one of the oldest houses in the village, the year of construction of which was dated to 1386 by carbon analysis. When setting up the museum, the typical layout of the rooms of the old Gurin houses was retained: a staircase made from a mighty larch trunk leads to the second floor, while the "Gantarli", a cupboard, stands in the living room next to the brick oven covered with a glazed stone slab in the lower part of which, separated by slats, the chickens were kept warm in winter.
