The castle Liebenstein towers south of Neckarwestheim on a narrow ridge high above the Neckar. At the heart of the well-preserved complex is the lower castle with the keep of 1230. Also noteworthy is the castle chapel in the Renaissance style.
Today the castle is a hotel and a very good restaurant with fine cuisine, where you can of course taste regional wines.

Nice little castle over Neckarwestheim. The way up is good to drive on, there is not much traffic, although many a "golf pro" thinks he has to thunder up the mountain with his Benz. To the circle of customers of the restaurant in the castle cyclists in appropriate clothes hardly.

Schloss Liebenstein is picturesquely situated on a steep, narrow ridge south of Neckarwestheim. In addition to the castle complex and the castle used as a hotel restaurant, the impressive Renaissance chapel is recommended for a visit.
Liebenstein Castle was built as the ancestral seat of the "Lords of Liebenstein" by Knight Reinhard von Liebenstein and his son Albert. Towards the end of the 17th century, Duke Albrecht von Württemberg acquired the properties, which are still managed as a domain today.
Characteristic of the historical architectural style are the striking stepped gables, the parapets, round staircases, window decorations, frescoes and artistic paintings of the interiors in Renaissance style.
A special attraction on the castle grounds is the castle chapel, built in 1599 by the Heilbronn master builder Jacob Müller. The building is Gothic, but partly in the purest Renaissance style, with many sculptures, masks, flourishes and pointed columns. The building is one of the few surviving works of the refined Württemberg Renaissance and is therefore an important monument.
The castle chapel provides a special setting for weddings and baptisms.
The concerts in the chapel, which are organized by the ZEAG cultural foundation in cooperation with the Neckarwestheim community, are also popular, as is the "Church in the Green" of the Protestant parish.
During guided tours of Liebenstein Castle, the castle complex itself and the castle chapel are on the program. Group tours can be booked at any time on request. There are regular public castle tours, which individuals can take part in:
