Lahnknie Nature Reserve in the Upper Lahn Valley

The Lahnauen near Caldern and Sterzhausen are very beautiful and rightly protected as a nature reserve. There are so-called furcations here, which are streams running parallel to the Lahn that have been dismantled so that a floodplain landscape can be created here.

The nature reserve was placed under nature protection in September 1991 with the aim of sustainably securing and developing the natural water areas with the adjacent floodplain forest, grassland and fallow areas as well as hedges as a habitat for a large number of threatened animal and plant species.

There is a rest area on the bike path. Beautiful area ... The mouth of the Michelbach into the Lahn directly at the Lahn knee are also very idyllic.
