The Hohenfels Castle (402 m), located in the Dautphetaler district Allendorf, was once the ancestral seat of the Lords of Hohenfels. The castle complex consisted of a double castle on the summits of the Hohenfelses and the small Hohenfelses and served the Wegsicherung.
Today comes here, who goes on the wonderful Lahnhöhen extra tour. Especially worth seeing are the views from the Treisbergpass at Allendorf, Friedensdorf and Katzenbach. Varied forest passages, quiet valleys and romantic sunken paths make this tour an experience with lasting impressions.

There is actually not much left of the ruin after so many years, so you have to be satisfied with the information board.
