Mixed bag.
Narrow bare earth to start, then on chalk descent and finishing with gravel/hardpack at bottom of valley. Descent must be natural run-off or the hill when it rains as centre of track is dominated by deep gulley with sizable chunks at the bottom. Steep sides and roots make it a bit hairy in the dark!

Cycling

Scenic off road route starting with a narrow single track through Headley Common and then crossing Headley Common Road onto the heath to Box Hill Village via Farm Lane. There is a wide bridal path through Headley Heath that can become very boggy when wet and also very bumpy when dry.
