  • Rhine ferry Cologne-Langel / HitdorfIn the north of Cologne at Rheinkilometer 705.3, the car and passenger ferry "Fritz Middelanis" offers a reliable and fast connection between Cologne-Langel and Leverkusen-Hitdorf. It transports people, bicycles, motorcycles, cars and vans as well as trucks, buses and agricultural machinery up to a weight of 32 tonnes across the Rhine.The ferry operates 362 days a year and is estimated as an alternative to the Leverkusen motorway bridge, which may not be passed by vehicles from 3.5 tonnes. Access is on the left bank of the Rhine via the street "Hitdorfer Fährweg", right bank of the Rhine via the "Fährstraße" (L43). The ferry is operated by the "Rheinfähre Köln-Langel / Hitdorf GmbH", in which the HGK and the city of Leverkusen are equally involved. The operation is carried out by the HGK
