The listed farmer's house provides insights into the wages and livelihood of the Plau citizens, who lived to a large extent from agriculture and animal husbandry. Very few citizens of Plau became rich, but it was honest work. The complex with the main and side building as well as storage and stable building was burnt down to the foundation walls in the great city fire in the 18th century, but was then rebuilt using materials that could still be used and has been maintained ever since.

It is the last ensemble in the climatic health resort of Plau am See that is under monumental protection and has been preserved in functionality, consisting of the main and side house, stable and storage building. The arable bourgeois house was rebuilt from recovered materials after the last big city fire in 1756 on the existing cellar building. Not one beam of the framework is the same as the other and shows traces of repeated use. In addition to the trade or trade, the corresponding citizens of the city needed fields and cattle to live, so they were arable citizens. The driveway, the cobblestone courtyard, well, dung hole, dry toilets and the stables with horse crib, pig pens and chicken manure plate as well as the storerooms will be preserved in their original state. The facade of the main house was changed by installing the shop windows in the basement in 1929. The apartments in the main building and the side building were modernized in 1999. The monument will be preserved in-house.
